To kick off the new MPYC Race Seminar series, I am pleased to invite you, your crew and other guests to a Shorthanded Seamanship seminar on Monday, March 18, starting at 630pm. The seminar will feature a panel discussion with notable MPYC short-handers David Potter, Dave Morris and Garth Hobson. We also hope one or two of our Cruisers will join the panel. They will share their experiences on how to prepare your boat, yourself and your limited crew for a shorthanded fun sail around the bay, racing around buoys, or to be comfortable entering the Double or Single Handed Long-distance races. Given the wide variety of experience at the club, we hope this would be an interactive discussion with the goal of enhancing our knowledge and experience levels in short handed sailing. We also hope, the seminar would inspire more skippers to enter the Double Handed Long-distance race on 30 March. Once you've done that, then you have to try sailing the Single Handed race on June 8. Both races are a blast!
Please join us for an exciting evening - the sooner you learn shorthanded seamanship, the sooner the waters become a comfortable backyard in which to play!
